Common questions

Questions about customs and international trade

What is AEO certification and what does it give an importer?
The Authorised Economic Operator is a DIAN certification attesting to security and compliance across the supply chain. It reduces physical and documentary inspection rates, grants priority processing, provides mutual recognition with other countries and improves the customs risk profile.
What should a company do if the DIAN seizes its goods?
An objection to the seizure must be filed within the statutory term, supported by documentary evidence proving lawful entry or correcting the error. How the initial evidentiary stage is handled largely determines the outcome of the proceeding.

Need counsel on customs and international trade?

An initial conversation is enough to establish whether the matter calls for ongoing counsel, a one-off intervention, or simply a second reading.
